How Kai Studios Began
Kai Studios began long before there was a studio.
In 2022, I was making small fanny packs and scrunchies and selling them at school with very little knowledge of business, and even less confidence that anyone would actually pay for something I had made with my own hands.
As I continued studying Consumer Science with a specialization in Fashion, Retail Management, and Supply Chain, my love for fashion grew deeper. I knew I wanted to leave my own mark on the industry, but I kept asking myself the same question: How do you build something meaningful when you feel like you have so little to start with?
I had one sewing machine, a small residence room, and a dream that felt far bigger than both.
Instead of waiting until I had more, I chose to trust the Lord with what I already had. I asked ten friends to buy their own fabric and let me make them a dress while I filmed the process. I started a series called “Making 10 Dresses for 10 Friends in My Small Residence Room.”
I never announced that I was open for business.
But people watched. They shared. They believed in the dream before I fully knew what it would become. Orders began arriving one after another, and what started in a tiny room with one sewing machine slowly became Kai Studios.
This story has never been about having enough. It has always been about what God can do with what is placed in His hands. Kai Studios is a reminder that He has a way of taking what feels small, ordinary, and insufficient, and turning it into something far greater in His timing, and always in His way.
The Story Behind the name Kai Studios
I was born a Kaiser, the youngest of three daughters, and for as long as I can remember, I knew that one day my surname might be something I would have to leave behind.
As I grew older, I found myself holding onto that name more tightly. It was one of the few things that still connected me to my father, and I knew I wanted it to be carried with me through every chapter of my life—not only in memory, but in something I could build with my own hands.
Kai Studios was born from that desire. It is more than a brand name; it is a part of my surname, a part of my father, and a part of who I am.
This brand is built on more than fabric and thread. It is built on remembrance, resilience, and the belief that the things we love can continue long after we think we have lost them.
Kai Studios is my way of ensuring that the name Kaiser will always have a place in the future I am creating.
